Background

 A common line of thinking in the West seems to be that the current conflict began with Hama's offensive on October 7th, 2023. This is far from the truth. Gaza had been under Israeli siege/blockade since 2006, and arguably even earlier depending on definitions. The two most recent conflicts prior to October 7th were Operation Cast Lead in 2008/2009 and Operation Protective Edge in 2014. Gaza is structured like a world war two era ghetto. It can be compared to the Warsaw ghetto, and even the Warsaw uprising of 1944 in many ways.

 Gaza had few jobs. How could it have had jobs? It was besieged and had its economy completely cut off from the world. There was not a possibility for any jobs. Most of Gaza's population would never be allowed to or able to leave. Two million people were stuck in a 25 mile by 5 mile strip of land. That is (for the most part) where they were born, and almost without exception it would be where they would die. The Western mind cannot comprehend this dynamic in this day and age.

With the Abraham accords advancing under Trump and continuing under Biden, Saudi Arabia was poised to recognize Israel. No concessions would be made for the Palestinians. Their situation was hopeless. The only option, as many saw it, was to break down the fence and attack the oppressor on the other side. That is exactly what happened on October 7th, 2023. 

In response to the humiliation felt by the oppressive Israeli regime on October 7th, it was immediately clear that genocide was envisioned for the Palestinians as retaliation. An intense and indiscriminate bombing campaign rocked the Gaza strip through October of 2023. This was followed by a ground invasion by the IDF. 

To justify this assault against civilians, atrocity propaganda was circulated by Israel to Western media outlets. These bits of propaganda are still often cited as factual in 2025. These lines included 40 beheaded babies and mass sexual assault. However, both of these claims proved false. The official Israeli death toll does not name 40 babies. Not one instance of sexual assault could be found by independent reporters inquiring to Israeli hospitals. Nor does any digital evidence exist of such assault. Hamas even released a video taken in the events of October 7th with two Israeli children that they were looking after amid the fighting. We know that these two children in fact lived from Israel's official list of the dead. Children in the age range of the two shown in the video are not among the dead. In fact, only one baby is listed among the dead. Apparently this child was not killed intentionally, however. The only side murdering children on a massive scale is in fact the IDF.
