March 2017 Hama Offensive. March 21. The US/CIA backed Free Syrian Army launch an offensive alongside Hayat Tahrir al-Sham/rebranded al-Qaeda in Northern Hama against the Syrian Government.

March 25th. HTS/Al-Qaeda and FSA attack Qomhana town. The attack on Qomhana was unsuccessful. With rebels unable to take this vital town their advancements began to be rolled back by the Syrian Army.

April 14. HTS/Al-Qaeda and FSA Jaish al-Izza capture a T-62M tank near Helfaya. This tank was featured in media of both groups, a clear indication that they work together on this front.
April 25th. The rebel offensive in Hama has been utterly defeated, with all areas taken recaptured by the Syrian Army. On top of this, the Syrian army captured Helfaya and and Taybat al-Imam, which were previously under rebel control. The small town of Masasnah was also captured by the Syrian Army. Moderates and HTS/al-Qaeda attempted to retake this small town, but were unsuccessful.

This article was finally published in 2024. Further photos of the offensive are difficult to locate. Most of the documented history of the war seems to have been wiped from the internet. I am publishing this for that reason.
