Nazis in Ukraine: Not Russian Propaganda

When Putin declared "denazification" of Ukraine was a goal on February 24th 2022, many westerns mocked the statement. Western media was quick to pounce on it and declare no neo-Nazis or white supremacists existed in all of Ukraine. Not only are there Nazis in Ukraine, but they are state sponsored and even an official branch of their military (the Azov Regiment for example.)

Lines of evidence for this usually are limited to the Azov Regiment when looking online, but there are many worse signs.

Stepan Bandera was a WW2 political figure initially allied to the Nazis. He is responsible for the death of at least 100,000 civilians. Today, however, he is revered in Ukraine. One poll in April 2022 showed that 74% of the Ukrainian population had a favorable view of Bandera. Physical evidence of this support is rampant. There are at least 34 streets in Ukraine named after Bandera, and several statues commemorating him.

Ukrainian tanks and armored vehicles have begun to appear painted with the Wehrmacht-style Balkenkruez symbol.

The Azov regiment has been discussed more often than previous evidences.

The Black Sun symbol was designed for the SS and Himmler. It is a common sight on Ukrainian soldiers, usually in the form of a patch.

The SS Galicia Division, responsible for the murder of Jew, poles and Russian, is still celebrated in Ukraine. Parades are held annually in Lviv and 2 streets are named after it in Ternopil and Ivano-Frankivsk.

Nazi ideology is rampant in Ukraine even at the state level, but by all means send them billions of dollars.
